Julia Margaret Cameron's photographs taken in Ceylon from 1875 to 1879 were the subject of my postgraduate thesis at the Australian National University. While Cameron’s work has been subject to extensive analysis, these, her last photographs, are little known and less admired. Drawing on historical and post-colonial discourses and archival sources, I examine Cameron's life in Ceylon, offering new insights and reframing existing knowledge and narratives. The tour also takes you around Sri Lanka to see culture, heritage, biodiversity and beaches of Sri Lanka accompanied by a Registered National Tour Guide while you explore Cameron’s life.

Before studying Art History, I had a career in corporate finance and restructuring, with degrees in Economics from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, and an MBA from the University of Warwick, UK.

I have placed some of Julia Margaret Cameron’s Ceylon photographs below.
